Graphite Design Tour AD GP (Greatest Performing) Golf Shaft Review
I. Who is the Graphite Design Tour AD GP Golf Shaft For:
This golf shaft is for the player who is seeking a premium quality low-launching ultra low-spin shaft with the smooth and tight feel that has become apart of the newer generation of Graphite Design’s Tour AD shafts. This golf shaft fits into the hands of players who have faster tempos, aggressive transitions, late releases, higher swing speeds, who desire a lower launching bend profile, ultra low spin rates, want to be able to control their drives in windy conditions, and get fantastic roll out! This shaft has fit phenomenally into many PGA Tour, NCAA, and competitive high-school golfers, and those who know and trust the Graphite Design brand of golf shafts!
II. What Do I Need to Know About the Graphite Design Tour AD GP Golf Shaft:
This shaft was recently introduced in 2016 as an updated version to the classic low-launch low-spin Tour AD BB model. With the GP’s integration of Torray T1100 90-ton modulus graphite throughout the shaft and tip section, along with the original 50-ton Nanoalloy material, the GP shaft was designed to be a “tighter” version of the BB! Made to help lower player’s launch angles and significantly reduce spin rates, the Graphite Design Tour AD GP golf shaft is for the heavy hitter who needs ultimate performance in low launch and ultra low spin. The ultra stiff tip section will help promote an ultra low ball spin effect for straighter drives, amazing feedback, stability on off-centered shots, and extra roll out on the fairway! Just be ready when matching this shaft with a low-spin driver head!
If anything, it is the ultra stiff tip section of the GP that sets this shaft apart from all others. Rated the stiffest tip on the market, you will feel and be in control of the club head throughout the swing and know exactly when you hit the ball on the screws! Lastly, don’t tip this shaft! It will actually counter the design and result in a softer tip performance, the opposite of what this shaft was designed for: Ultra low spin!!!
Player Profile: Tempo: accelerated, Transition: aggressive, Release: late, Swing Speed: fast, Trajectory: low, Spin: ultra low.

IV. Additional Information About the Graphite Design Tour AD GP Golf Shaft:
This shaft is for someone ready to bring it! It has the stiffest tip section of any golf shaft on the market, and be prepared to feel the most responsive and lowest spinning tip section ever! Players with fast tempos and hard transitions looking to lower their launch and kill spin will benefit immensely from the Graphite Design Tour AD GP! There are other low-launch low-spin shafts to consider, but none will have as stiff tip sections as the GP! As mentioned: be prepared if you plan to match this golf shaft with a low-spin driver head!
General Swing Speed Recommendation: Regular (R1): 86-95mph, Stiff-Regular (SR): 92-98mph, Stiff (S): 96-105mph, X-Stiff (X): 105+mph,
If you want to kill spin and launch the ball low, this Graphite Design golf shafts will absolutely meet anybody’s needs!
This was the first GD shaft I have ever hit. From my understanding they are some of the best shafts on the market for feel. I tried the KK XT and Rogue 125 and both felt better than this off the face. The tip is very stiff. I hit my furthest drive (no monitor) with this shaft out of the 3 I tried but was not a fan of the way it felt compared to the others. 110 mph swing speed and the x flex worked great for me. This shaft was a straight flight producer as I could get the ball to work right pretty easy but left was a no go...could have been the day as I only get out a couple times a week but that was my result.
