    Fujikura Ventus Black Product Review:

The exceptionally engineered Ventus Black is designed to significantly tighten shot dispersion and maximize ball speed especially on off-center shots. Ventus is a Tour-inspired profile and the first to include Fujikura’s all-new VeloCore Technology in an accelerated taper, ultra-stiff tip profile. Maximum energy transfer from the tip section boosts the clubhead’s performance and a straight taper design enhances loading and feel. Maximize your ball-speed, MOI, and Distance Control with the multi-material bias core construction that delivers ultimate stability through transition and impact (maximizing clubhead MOI) – increasing velocity and smash factor. The multi-material core is crafted with full-length, ultra-high modulus Pitch 70 Ton Carbon Fiber — 150% stronger and more stable than T1100g — for ultimate stability, and 40 Ton bias layers ensure incredible feel. Get your your Fujikura Ventus Black here! 1. ShaftShack and Ventus Black: Reliable.

      0-5 Handicap
      115 avg driver swing speed
Usually carry the ball around 275-285. Total ~300-310.

I demoed the Ventus Blue 6x and the Ventus Black 6x. Over the course of the week that I demoed them, they each had range sessions where they were on fire. The first day on the range, I was literally laughing at some of the shots I was hitting. Some bombs for sure, but I really got a kick out of how good the bad shots were.

Anyway, I ended up going with the Ventus Black 6x. When the Blue was good, it was great, but 1) I prefer something a little more stiff, 2) the Black had a tighter dispersion for me, and 3) the Black had me hitting the same spot over and over again, whereas I was a little more spread out on the driver face with the Blue.

I don’t feel like the Black is insanely stiff. I would describe the feel as very firm but also smooth. I really don’t think you could go wrong with either shaft, but after a week’s time of hitting both, I had a clear preference and an outright winner.

As a consumer, I’d consider myself a tinkerer and a scientist right up until I’m absolutely neither of those things. I like to test, research, collect data, try a million things, and once I feel very confident that I’ve made the right decisions, I trust the equipment and I just go play. I tried a lot of different options, and I landed on this shaft after much deliberation. I expect to use this shaft for a very long time, and am so confident in its performance, that I’m ready to close this chapter and move on to the next item on my to-do list in my search for a better golf game.

Also, I was very happy with Phil and the guys at ShaftShack. Very attentive and helpful. I got the sense they wanted me to find what was right for me, and were willing to help with any requests/questions I had. I really appreciated the discount I received on the purchase I made after demoing the two shafts.

      All around, 10/10.

    2. Smooth and stable!

I just upgraded from the stock Project X Evenflow in my Titleist TS2, I love how the Ventus feels! spent some time on the range going back and forth between the two, the ball feels like it's coming off the face a little hotter and am loving the ball flight. Seems to fly a little higher than the Evenflow but just love how stable and smooth the shaft feels. When going back to the Evenflow it felt a little 'dead' compared to the Ventus. First couple hit's and swings it was a 'oh wow' that's different moment. on 14th Aug 2020
